Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a manager of alumni and parent ambassadors in the office of admissions.

The manager of alumni and parent ambassadors will take a leadership role in cultivating support for Hampshire College by building and strengthening relationships with a diverse base of alums and parents to assist with recruitment and yield efforts. The manager will recruit volunteers to help with active recruiting that will include activities such as traveling to local high schools and community based organizations, conducting interviews, and organizing on and off-campus recruiting events. This position will also recruit volunteers to act as brand ambassadors and social media amplifiers to participate in activities as filling out surveys about their time while at Hampshire, writing short testimonials about life after Hampshire, and reposting stories on social media. The manager will maintain a portfolio of individual relationship prospects, conduct independent outreach and personal visits to cultivate affinity with the College, and attend alumni events whenever possible. This position will work with the director of enrollment operations and technology to build out a portal in the Technolutions Slate CRM to track volunteer engagement and communication, and will collaborate with the office of institutional research and the Career Options Research Center to distill and synthesis information on outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree with two years of job-related experience is required; previous experience in higher education preferred.  Qualified candidate must possess a demonstrated ability to recruit, engage and manage volunteers with a high level of independent judgment and motivation.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as is writing and presentation skills are required.  A proven ability to build and strengthen relationships with diverse constituents is essential. The manager must be able to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team; possess attention to detail; and be able to keep multiple projects and priorities on schedule. A commitment to Hampshire’s unique pedagogy and mission is a must. This position requires occasional evenings and weekends, with some travel as needed.
