The Hampshire College Early Learning Center, an innovative, Reggio-inspired, college-affiliated early education and childcare program is accepting applications for an office assistant.

The office assistant will perform a variety of duties in support of the Early Learning Center  (ELC) which include organize and distribute paperwork to current and prospective families, process monthly tuition billing, maintain child and staff files, manage student worker schedules, and order and manage classroom and building supplies. The office assistant will work in the classroom assisting teachers and serve as a substitute when needed.

A high school diploma with a minimum of two years of job-related experience is required; previous experience working with young children preferred.  This position requires proficient computer skills with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, the Adobe suite, etc.; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and effective problem solving abilities with demonstrated judgment and resourcefulness.  The office assistant should be well-organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, handle confidential matters, and highly motivated and energetic. EEC certification is a plus. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.  This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Offer of employment will be contingent upon a successful background check, which will include a criminal record investigation.
