Position Type: Full Time

Schedule: 35 Hours a week

Pay Range/ Status: $21.50 - $23.00 Hour / Non-Exempt)

Location: Hampshire College Campus in Amherst, MA

Reports to: Director of Operations and Systems

Anticipated Start Date: October 1, 2022

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides general operational support to the office of admissions. The office of admissions is a complex operations that welcomes over 3,000 guests to the college and processes almost 2,400 application for admissions annually. This role is critical to the offices effective management of the logistics related to both vistors and applicants.

They work closely with the director of operations and systems to process and prepare applications for review, and after files have been reviewed to release decisions in a time fashions. General duties also include assisting with routine office functions including data entry, filing of documents, and other clerical functions or supervising student interns in this work.

The office coordinator and records specialist is responsible for daily scheduling of campus visits and works closely with the Campus Visit Program in scheduling and planning logistics for office of admissions events, functions, and programs. They manage the reception of guests to the office which includes insuring that student interns or receptionists meet guests needs and answer general calls to the office of admissions.

  • Ability to use vendor-packaged software such as Microsoft word and mail-merge functions,
  • Experience handling confidential material,
  • Customer service oriented,
  • Knowledge of basic office management systems and procedures,
  • Working knowledge of office equipment,
  • Clear and direct communication skills,
  • Familiarity with Datatel or other enterprise databases helpful, but not required.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year job-related experience

Alternatives to formal education and paid work experience may be considered as equivalent qualifications to include military service/training, volunteering, activism, and other non-traditional programs and experiences related to the position.
