Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and a member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for alumni volunteer coordinator in the Office of College Advancement.

The alumni volunteer coordinator, working collaboratively with the high-profile Alumni Advisory Group (AAG), manages the resources and processes for the effective recruitment of volunteers for the College. Among the duties are coordinating the staff who will be involved with reunion volunteers, working with offices across campus that use alumni volunteers to further their missions, and conducting training for events such as the annual Alumni Volunteer Summit. The coordinator is the initial contact for families of current Hampshire students who get in touch with the unit, and refers them to the appropriate on-campus resources. The coordinator also works with the director of Alumni and Family Relations (AFR) to manage the department’s email accounts and other communications with alums and families, such as mailings to new families, commencement information and invitations, and works with colleagues to make sure information on the alumni and families portions of the College website is up to date. The alumni volunteer coordinator assists with on-campus events: orientation, commencement, Div IV and reunions, for example.

A bachelor’s degree is required, along with a minimum of two years’ job-related experience. Candidates must have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and the ability to manage sensitive correspondence. Exceptional computer skills are also a must, and familiarity with Datatel systems, content-management systems, and blast email and event software (Harris Connect) is preferred. Some HTML knowledge helpful. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential, as is a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

The alumni volunteer coordinator is a 12-month, 35-hour-per-week position. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits program. Please submit your cover letter, résumé, and the names/phone numbers of three professional references via our website, at http://jobs.hampshire.edu.
