Hampshire College, one of America’s most distinguished, innovative liberal arts institutions and member of the Five College consortium with Amherst, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts Amherst is accepting applications for an energetic and creative associate/senior associate dean of admissions to serve as a key leader in the recruitment, selection and yield of talented and diverse students.

Working with the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid as well as an exceptional admissions staff, this position will recruit and market the college’s interdisciplinary inquiry-based curriculum to diverse audiences on and off campus. The associate/senior associate dean will assist in the development of overall admissions strategy, oversee one or more specialized areas of admission, manage a recruitment territory, and participate in the reading and assessment of 3,000 applications annually to enroll exceptional Hampshire students. Qualified candidates will have experience working with school counselors, teachers and administrators. This position requires approximately two months of travel in the fall and one month in the spring along with occasional evenings and weekends.

Our ideal candidate is an energetic and articulate team player who will passionately convey the distinctive qualities and benefits of a Hampshire education. A bachelor’s degree is required and master’s degree preferred. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience working in an educational institution and/or admissions required; experience within a private, selective liberal arts college preferred. Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds; outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills, and excellent organization and presentation skills. Must be computer-literate with experience as a high level user of CRM databases and excel; and be familiar with territory and prospect management. Previous supervisory experience is required. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and possess a valid driver’s license. Title will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
