Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College Consortium, is accepting applications for an advancement assistant in the Office of College Advancement.

This position provides a full range of administrative support to the the director of annual giving (HF) and to the director of alumni and family relations (AFR) .  Under co-direction of two supervisors, this position helps oversee the smooth running of procedures, projects, reports, and communications for the Hampshire Fund and AFR teams and provides front-line customer service as needed. Duties include making travel arrangements and organizing travel itineraries, drafting and editing reports and correspondence, entering donor contact data into the donor database, preparing briefing packets for donor visits, working with mailing lists in Excel and assisting with special projects and staffing events as needed.  The advancement assistant will be responsible for maintaining the website and preparing reports that are accurate and timely. This position supervises student workers.

Associates degree with two years of job-related experience is required. Candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills. Computer expertise within a professional environment, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Access (or other relational database) and PowerPoint is a must. Successful candidate should have basic bookkeeping skills to process reimbursements, and assist with gift entry; experience booking travel and maintaining internaries; and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communciation skills in order to respond to alums, parents and friends of the College. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This position requires a valid driver’s license and must successfully complete the Hampshire College Defensive Driving Training Course. The advancement assistant must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

This 12-month, 35-hour per week benefited position requires occasional evenings and weekends.
