Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a grants administrator and office assistant for the School of Cognitive Science.

The grants administrator and office assistant is responsible for managing all grant budgets, expenditures, and reporting for faculty in the School of Cognitive Science. Responsibilities include making travel arrangements for conferences, and research and educational activities associated with grants; documenting and monitoring expenditures against grant budgets; and informing and assisting Principal Investigators with reports and other aspects of grant compliance. This position also manages the budgets, awards, and reporting for several endowed funds within the school. The grants administrator and office assistant  has extensive communications with the school dean, business office, institutional advancement, and relevant faculty within the school. This position also provides office support for the school office, manages any weekly or occasional events for the School of Cognitive Science, proofs faculty evaluations of student work, and maintains relevant college web pages among other duties. This position is supervised by the school’s administrative assistant. 

Associates degree with a minimum of three years job-related experience is required.  Candidate should possess excellent written, verbal, quantitative, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional computer skills especially with Excel are a must. Experience with grant administration, particularly for government grants such as NSF and  NIH, is a plus. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This is a 35-hour per week, 12-month benefited position. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program.
