Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking a program coordinator, External Leadership Projects, for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy (CLPP) Program, a national project that equips and inspires new generations of leaders through campus-based education, real-world advocacy practice, and the skills to build a stronger, more diverse movement for reproductive freedom and social change.

The program coordinator will organize and coordinate CLPP's national activist leadership network (New Leadership Networking Initiative) under the direction of CLPP's assistant director/External Leadership Projects and provide support for CLPP's national summer internship program (Reproductive Rights Activist Service Corps). The program coordinator will organize network convenings and a biennial Summer Leadership Institute, conduct program outreach, and coordinate participation and programming for these projects to meet project goals and advance CLPP’s mission of supporting new leadership for the reproductive health, rights and justice movement. The coordinator will serve on the program team with CLPP's assistant directors, providing content input for CLPP's annual conference, developing and supporting new program initiatives and providing input and support for other programming and events as needed.

This is a grant funded position with continuation pending future funding.

A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years job-related experience is required; social justice experience preferred. Candidates should be detail-oriented; able to handle high volume of work; effectively prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve; pay attention to deadlines and details; have good organizational skills; communicate clearly and confidently; and must demonstrate flexibility and work well under pressure. Strong project management skills are a plus. The program coordinator must have word processing and data entry skills using Microsoft programs (especially Word and Excel) and Google documents; ability to relay information, messages and correspondence in timely and organized manner; and experience using spreadsheets and databases. Previous meeting facilitation and/or public speaking experience is required. The successful candidate will have experience working with diverse communities, including people with different racial, ethnic and class backgrounds, and people of different genders. A commitment to CLPP’s mission is essential. This position requires occasional travel, evenings, and weekends.
