Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking a development associate for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program (CLPP). CLPP is a national program that inspires, educates and supports new activists and leaders to build a stronger and more diverse movement for reproductive freedom and social change.

The development associate (DA) will support CLPP's donor relations program through management of all aspects of CLPP's database including development and maintenance, and provide support for CLPP's development team including management of stewardship calendars; gift tracking and donor acknowledgment; production of donor reports; assistance with submitting proposals and reports to institutional funders; prospect research; and events management. The DA is responsible for maintaining and managing the quality and integrity of the database so that it is a robust and reliable resource that informs donor cultivation and stewardship strategy, and produces and implements accurate and complete reports. The DA will provide strategic oversight and ongoing development and maintenance of CLPP's civiCRM database to support CLPP's programmatic and development operations.

This is a grant funded position with continuation pending future funding.

A bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of three years job-related experience; experience in a nonprofit development environment strongly preferred. Successful candidate should have a strong understanding of and experience with fundraising operations and support services including prospect identification and donor stewardship, gift acknowledgement, donor tracking, and reports. Some experience with wealth screening tools preferred. Significant database management experience, preferably with civiCRM, and strong technical,  planning and problem solving skills are required. Candidate should have effective hands-on knowledge and skills of data manipulation and analysis; expertise with relational databases and data migration tools; ability to analyze complex data; and proficiency in mining, manipulating, analyzing and interpreting data to make strategic recommendations that increase fundraising capabilities. Candidate will be able to understand and meet the data needs for both programmatic and development functions; manage competing priorities and ability to work under tight deadlines; and be extremely detail oriented. The DA must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff and faculty; and manage sensitive correspondence, as extreme confidentiality is required at all times. A commitment to working with people with diverse identities and from diverse backgrounds, as well as a commitment to CLPP’s mission, is essential.
