Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking a communications and development associate for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program (CLPP). CLPP is a national program that inspires, educates and supports new activists and leaders to build a stronger and more diverse movement for reproductive freedom and social change.

The communications and development associate (CDA) is responsible for the development and implementation of communications strategy and projects intended to reach new constituencies and support fundraising efforts, by working closely with the CLPP director and members of CLPP's and Hampshire's fundraising and communications departments. The CDA initiates and manages media coverage for CLPP; manages the CLPP website and social media platforms; and develops online and print publications, outreach materials, video and other new media programming for program outreach, donor cultivation and stewardship. The CDA also manages CLPP's materials archives.  

This is a grant funded position with continuation pending future funding.

A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year job-related experience is required. Successful candidate should have outstanding communication (writing and editing) and interpersonal skills as well as strategic problem solving in the realm of communications. Successful candidate should have technology skills and experience including website and social media management; advanced word processing and data entry skills using Microsoft programs; ability to assess and implement new software; and ability to relay information, messages and correspondence in timely and organized manner. Familiarity with design programs including video editing, Photoshop, InDesign; and social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter is a must. Ideal candidate should have strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and manage and oversee editorial processes and communications projects.  Must be detail oriented with experience in copyediting. The CDA will take initiative in the management of CLPP's brand. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
