Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for one-year admissions counselors to represent the College through various recruitment and outreach activities.

Working with an exceptional admissions staff, the admissions counselors will recruit and market the College’s interdisciplinary inquiry-based curriculum to diverse audiences.  Counselors will manage a recruitment territory that will matriculate exceptional Hampshire students as well as build and sustain genuine, professional consultative relationships with prospective students. Our ideal candidates will be energetic and articulate team players who will passionately convey the distinctive qualities and benefits of a Hampshire education. These positions require two months of travel in the fall and one month in the spring.

Bachelor’s degree is required; previous experience working in an educational institution and/or admissions desirable. These positions requires creativity, a high level of interpersonal communication skills, and strong computer and telephone skills. The admissions counselors  must be results-oriented, energetic, and able to work in a fast paced environment. Effective decision making skills and customer service experience are required. Qualified applicants must be flexible and adaptable to changing environments, have effective public speaking and presentation skills, a belief in the value of a liberal arts education, passion for Hampshire's unique educational philosophy, and ability to knowledgeably communicate that uniqueness. The admissions counselors must be superbly organized and task and project oriented, be able to work independently, and quickly manage multiple tasks with ever shifting priorities. Good writing skills are a must. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and possess valid driver’s licenses. Occasional evening and weekend work is required. A demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds is essential.

These full time, benefited positions will end one year from start date or no later than June 30, 2017.
