Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a program coordinator in the global education office.

The program coordinator oversees the daily operations and cyclical functions of the Global Education Office (GEO) while providing administrative support to department staff and all programs and initiatives of the office.  Activities include, but are not limited to, providing confident and knowledgeable information to students, faculty, parents and college personnel regarding Global Education Office procedures and policies; managing enrollment and application processes for semester and short-term programs (includes online system); maintaining accurate financial systems/processing including bookkeeping and purchasing; coordinating promotion & outreach efforts  that include maintaining web and social media presences, updating promotional and advising materials; and providing preliminary study abroad advising as needed.

Associates’ degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years of job-related experience is required. Administrative office, advising or supervising experience is preferred; experience and /or interest in study abroad and international education administration is a plus. Advanced training and/or experience in a field related to international education, international relations, or higher education administration highly desirable. The program coordinator must be able to work independently, have a high tolerance for ambiguity and an exceptional level of initiative; the incumbent must be flexible and able to respond quickly to changing circumstances. Experience with program coordination and administrative systems and tasks including budget and accounting, enrollment and database management is essential. Previous experience with developing promotion and outreach materials is a plus.  Candidate must be amiable and welcoming, and form good working relationships with college administrative staff, faculty and students. In addition, the successful candidate must be  highly organized with acute attention to detail; have strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and coordinate large amounts of information; possess strong problem solving skills and able to make appropriate decisions in a timely manner; ability to maintain and implement administrative systems effectively; and have a solid level of technology skills. The program coordinator must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as solid technology skills. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This 12-month, 35-hour per week benefited position requires occasional evenings and weekends. This position holds a grade 3 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule.
