Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking a relational leadership alumni fellow to join the Ethics and the Common Good Project. This is a one-year, grant-funded position with possibility of continuation dependent on future funding.

Under the supervision of the Ethics and the Common Good (ECG) program director and in collaboration with partner programs including Community Partnerships and Social Change (CPSC), Critical Studies in Childhood, Youth and Learning (CYL) and the James Baldwin Scholars Program, the relational leadership alumni fellow coordinates and supports relational leadership development opportunities for students, staff, faculty and community partners.  The alumni fellow works closely with the Seed Team, a collective of students, staff and faculty, to cultivate relational leadership and a culture of collaboration on campus. Responsibilities include developing workshops, trainings, community engagement projects and other opportunities that strengthen relationships and connections, support transformational storytelling, active listening, and dialogue across difference, and enhance our ability to share leadership and engage in collaborative action for the common good.

A recent bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College, awarded between May 2013 and May 2016, is required. Ideal candidates will have experience working at the intersection of academia and community-led movements. The alumni fellow will have experience with facilitation including leading workshops, trainings, student groups and community conversations; proficient communication skills including writing, on-line communication, and interpersonal communication and public speaking; and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Candidate should have comfort in using Microsoft Office, Google documents, design software such as InDesign, and social media; experience with web design and maintenance is a plus. The relational leadership alumni fellow will have experience successfully navigating the Hampshire College community, culture and curriculum, as well as building and maintaining relationships with and across diverse communities. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
