Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a survivor support coordinator and violence prevention educator.

The survivor support coordinator and violence prevention educator is responsible for providing confidential survivor support to students and educational violence prevention services for the Hampshire College community related to sexual violence, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking. Support services for students include counseling, referrals to on and off campus supports, academic assistance, information about reporting options, legal advocacy, and other advocacy as needed. Prevention services includes educational outreach, student and staff trainings, social media campaigns and community dialogues around topics such as identifying warning signs of violence, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, consent, and more.

Advanced degree with a minimum of one-year job related experience is required; rape crisis counselor certification preferred. Successful candidate must have professional counseling experience around issues of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and stalking through prevention, victim services, and/or training; in-depth knowledge of issues and dynamics related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual harassment and stalking on college campuses; demonstrated ability to interact effectively with persons of diverse socio-economic, racial and ethnic, international and LGBQ and trans*, including knowledge and understanding of multicultural approaches to supporting survivors; ability to reach out to, listen to and provide culturally sensitive services to underrepresented and marginalized student populations. The coordinator/educator should have experience providing educational programs around consent, bystander intervention, survivor supports and social justice; experience conducting needs assessments and using results to guide programmatic decisions, institutional strategies and budget allocations; background in trauma sensitive practices focused on confidentiality, empowerment and self-determination; and demonstrated understanding of contemporary best practices in the spectrum of violence prevention for college campuses. Knowledge of Title IX and Clery guidance and regulations, as well as experience creating, maintaining and evaluating non-clinical-group based interventions is essential. Candidate will have excellent project management skills; ability and willingness to manage flexible workload and multiple tasks; public speaking and training experience; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team; and a commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds. The coordinator/education must be able to understand and maintain survivor confidentiality. This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

This full time, 10-month, benefited position has an employment cycle of August 1st through May 31st, and holds a grade 6 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule.
