Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an office of accessibility resources and services assistant. This is a two year position with continuation dependent on future funding.

Reporting to the office of accessibility resources and services (OARS) director, the OARS assistant will support the administrative and accommodation functions of OARS by directing front-line office communication and aiding in facilitation of the accommodation request and approval process. In addition to the administrative and support duties, the OARS assistant will provide student staff training and support; facilitate students through the disability disclosure and accommodation request processes by clarifying documentation guidelines, forms and other disclosure requirements; and support the administrative implementation of accommodations.

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent with a minimum of two years job-related experience is required.  Successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly learn new, relevant technology tools for use in managing office communication and data management. Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of student development theory, ability to coach and counsel students to identify the issues for which they need support, and a basic knowledge of how to determine whether documentation meets standards outline in OARS documentation guidelines. This 12-month, 20 hour-per-week, benefited position holds a grade 2 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefit program.
