Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an advancement assistant to administration and alumni and family relations in the office of college advancement.

The advancement assistant to administration and alumni and family relations provides administrative support to the director of administration and individual giving, the director of alumni and family relations (AFR), and other staff of AFR, as well as oversees the smooth running of the college advancement office. This position is responsible for front-line customer service duties including responding to requests from alums, donors, and offices across the College. They will provide administrative support to the Alumni Advisory Group and coordinate meeting schedules, correspondence, travel, and other administrative support under the under the co-supervision of two directors. As office manager this position oversees facilities needs, supply ordering, and other office tasks, as well as supervise student workers. The position will work regularly with the constituent database and CRM system, including email communications and data entry.

An associate’s degree or equivalent is required with a minimum of two years’ job-related experience. The successful candidate should have computer expertise within a professional environment including proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other relational database programs; aptitude for complex Excel work is a must. This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills; effective proofreading and copy editing skills;  basic bookkeeping skills to process reimbursements; and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This 12-month, 35 hour-per-week, benefited position holds a grade 4 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule.
