Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an alumni and family relations event coordinator in the office of college advancement.
Under the direction of the senior associate director, the alumni and family relations event coordinator plans, markets, and executes events both on and off campus. The coordinator will monitor event registrations, oversee staffing for on-campus events, and ensure that event data and information is entered into the database.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years job-related experience is required. Ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level of comfort with online communication and database tools and ability to learn new programs; and exceptional customer service with the ability to communicate independently with major donors, trustees, and other key contributors. Comfort with fund-raising and ability to work collaboratively with gift officers, annual fund staff, and other advancement staff is necessary. The alumni and family relations event coordinator must be able to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team; possess strong organizational skills; have attention to detail; ability to keep multiple projects and priorities on schedule; and remain calm under pressure. Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This position requires a valid driver’s license and must successfully meet the requirements of Hampshire College’s driver credentialing policy.
This 12-month, 35-hour per week benefited position requires limited travel as well as occasional evenings and weekends, and holds a grade 4 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule.
