Hampshire College Library seeks a service-oriented individual to fill a temporary InfoBar Evening Associate position to begin immediately.

Reporting to the access services supervisor, the InfoBar Evening Associate oversees the library security and maintenance as well as for the Airport Lounge, the library's 24-hour study space.   The evening associate performs a variety of library public service and clerical duties in support of the access services department.  Responsibilities include taking the lead on Stacks Maintenance, working at the circulation desk to provide general information on library services and answer inquiries regarding basic circulation policies, checking library materials in and out, registering new patrons, placing holds on items, running reports using the library system software (Aleph), and providing information on the use of equipment.  This position assists with the training, supervision and evaluation of student circulation assistants.

Bachelor’s degree is required.  This position is a perfect opportunity for someone with an interest in library services. Successful applicants will be committed to working with people from diverse backgrounds, and empowering students of all abilities.

This non-benefited, temporary position begins immediately ends no later than December 31, 2017.  The schedule for the temporary InfoBar evening associate is Sunday, 9:30 a.m.. - 5:30 p.m..; and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 4 p.m.. – midnight. Work schedule may be negotiated within hours of operation based upon employee availability and library needs.
