Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a payroll and records coordinator.

Reporting to the payroll manager, the payroll and records coordinator is responsible for processing the College's student payroll and various payroll and personnel transactions; creating financial reports for distribution; reconciling reporting discrepancies; and performing a variety of account reconciliations. Duties include processing federal and state tax deposits; performing administrative duties including records maintenance and responding to payroll inquiries; assisting with quarterly and year-end payroll reporting; and serving as a backup for bi-weekly and monthly employee payrolls. The payroll and records coordinator will be responsible for preparing payroll and benefit reconciliations, assisting with audits, and preparing off-campus student billing and spreadsheets. The coordinator will assist in Hampshire’s new financial and budget software implementation in order to create, maintain, and monitor financial reports, and will reconcile and analyze such reports as required.

Bachelor’s degree is required; accounting degree preferred.  Qualified candidate must have proven ability working with a computerized ERP system; previous experience working in accounting or working with reconciliations is desirable. The payroll and records coordinator must have proficient computer skills with word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and data entry; exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; strong verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines. Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This 35-hour per week, benefited position holds a grade 4 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package.
