Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking a Quantitative Resource Center fellow to join the Knowledge Commons in the Harold F. Johnson Library.   This is a 10-month, grant-funded position with possibility of continuation dependent on future funding.

The Quantitative Resource Center (QRC) fellow, reporting to the assistant professor of mathematics, and working in close alignment with the director of the library and knowledge commons and associate librarian for knowledge commons, will support QRC student tutors, faculty teaching quantitative skills in their classes and the quantitative faculty.  The alumni fellow will oversee the students in the QRC, help identify and develop pedagogical resources, supervise and train the student workers in the QRC, improve online and social media presence, and share resources with faculty and students to aid learning.  The QRC fellow will also work closely with the knowledge commons staff and other alumni fellows, and with the quantitative faculty, to collect data on the effectiveness of the QRC and identify next steps to improve the QRC. This position requires working Sunday through Thursday 1-9PM. During summer months and school breaks, hours shift to Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 PM.

A recent bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College, awarded between May 2013 and May 2018, is required. The ideal candidate will have quantitative skills – math and/or stats minor equivalent with some programming experience; good project management skills; and a willingness to find resources and identify people to help with challenges outside abilities. The fellow must be able to interface with the student IT help in the library. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds, and empowering students of all abilities is essential. The candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

This is a 10-month, 35 hr. /wk., benefited position has an employment cycle of August 1 to June 1. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
