Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an advancement assistant to join the staff in the office of college advancement.

Reporting to the director of alumni and family relations, the advancement assistant provides administrative support for advancement staff and volunteer committees. Duties include making travel arrangements and assisting with trip planning; coordinating meeting schedules, correspondence, and various administrative support requests; working regularly with the constituent database and CRM system, including email communications and data entry; drafting correspondence to donors and alumni, and assisting with preparing mailings as needed; and overseeing  facility needs and supply ordering . The assistant will be responsible for helping alums, donors, and offices across the College connect with college advancement staff. This position will supervise student workers.

An associates degree with four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Qualified candidates must have computer expertise within a professional environment, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Access (or other relational database), PowerPoint, and experience with web and email content management systems (such as Drupal and/or MailChimp) is preferred. The advancement assistant must  possess strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills; solid proofreading and copy editing skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities; basic bookkeeping skills to process reimbursements; and experience in managing sensitive correspondence. Previous travel planning experience is preferred. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
