Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an admissions assistant.

The admissions assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the dean of admissions and financial aid and general support to the admissions and financial aid team, by assisting the offices with diverse tasks as directed. The assistant is responsible for the daily management of the operating budget, office coordination and support, and communications support and project coordination plan for the admissions office. This position provides administrative support to the admissions counselors as well as back up support to the receptionist, application supervisor, and visit experience coordinator.

Associate degree with a minimum of three years job-related experience in a professional office business environment, which includes marketing and/or communications coordination, data/records management or computer applications is required. Successful candidate must possess excellent project management skills, clear and direct communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions based on general goals and directives of the Dean. It is essential that the assistant nimbly maintain the Dean's calendar, adapt with frequent shifting priorities and competing demands, and ensure discretion around sensitive and confidential material. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail is a must.  Candidate should have computer data entry experience and ability to use vendor-packaged software such as Microsoft Word and mail-merge functions.  Familiarity with an enterprise database such as Colleague is preferred. The assistant must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.  A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
