Pay Range/ Status: $18.00 - $21.00 Hour / Non-Exempt

Location: Hampshire College Campus in Amherst, MA

Reports to: Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

Anticipated Start Date: October 25, 2021

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Admissions Office Coordinator provides administrative support to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and assists the office with diverse tasks as directed. Under the general direction of the Dean and Director of Operations and Technology, assumes responsibility for the daily management of the operating budget and office coordination for the admissions office.

The person in role this works closely with the Campus Visit Program and Student Interns to manage the greeting of visitors to the office. This may include insuring that Student Interns or Receptionists meet guests’ needs and answer general calls to the Office of Admissions. Directing students when appropriate in responding to general email inquiries, arranging and confirming campus visit requests from prospective students and parents, and maintaining the public spaces including reception, lobby and information session areas.

The Coordinator is responsible for all daily scheduling of campus visits including information sessions, tours and interviews and works closely with the Campus Visit Program in scheduling and planning logistics for Office of Admissions events, functions, and programs. This includes assisting with routine office functions including data entry, filing of documents, and other clerical functions or supervising student interns in this work. In working with students, the Admissions Office Coordinator will hire and supervise dedicated student staff to work as receptionists and conduct data entry for the office.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Candidate must possess excellent project management skills, clear and direct communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions based on general goals. Job-related experience in a professional office business environment, which includes marketing and/or communications coordination, data/records management or computer applications. Must possess excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.  Must have data entry experience.  Ability to use vendor-packaged software such as Microsoft word and mail merge functions.  Familiarity with Datatel (or other enterprise database helpful, but not required.  Experience with confidential material preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent

Alternatives to formal education and paid work experience may be considered as equivalent qualifications to include military service/training, volunteering, activism, and other non-traditional programs and experiences related to the position.
