Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking a program fellow for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program (CLPP). CLPP is a national program that inspires, educates and supports new activists and leaders to build a stronger and more diverse movement for reproductive justice and social change.

The program fellow (PF) is an entry level position that will provide support to CLPP's national leadership development projects, our paid summer internship program and our young community activist network, under the direction of CLPP's deputy director of programs. The PF will manage annual efforts to recruit, select, place and train undergraduate students for our summer internship program, working closely with program alumni. The PF will also help organize activist convenings, support program outreach, implement evaluation efforts and develop evaluation data, and coordinate participation and programming for these projects to meet project goals and advance CLPP’s mission of supporting new leadership for the reproductive health, rights and justice movement.

This is a grant-funded position with continuation pending future funding.

A bachelor’s degree with one year job related experience is required. Social justice experience highly desirable. Successful candidate must have word processing and data entry skills using Microsoft programs (especially Word and Excel) and Google documents; ability to relay information, messages and correspondence in timely and organized manner; experience using spreadsheets and databases; and strong project management skills.  Must be detail-oriented; able to handle high volume of work; effectively prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve; pay attention to deadlines and details; have good organizational skills; communicate clearly and confidently; demonstrate flexibility; and work well under pressure. Meeting facilitation and/or public speaking experience is required. Candidate must have a commitment to program mission and values. A demonstrated ability to interact effectively and work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds, including people with different racial, ethnic and class backgrounds, people of different genders, and people with disabilities is essential. This position requires some travel, and occasional night and weekend hours.

This is a 28 hour/week, 9-month benefited position which holds an employment cycle of September through May. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program.
