Hampshire College, an independent, innovative, liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a food service receiver.
The food service receiver is responsible for receiving, storage and inventory of all departmental supplies and food stuffs, safe delivery of food products to campus locations, and maintaining safety and sanitation in storage areas. Duties include following HACCP guidelines when receiving, assembling and distributing food supplies to ensure the quality and safety of food supply; identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers and per MSDS sheets; and report needed maintenance or repairs of equipment used to proper resources. This position requires the operation of large electric machines such as dishwashers and trash compactors.
High School diploma or equivalent is required; must have experience as a receiver of food and sanitation products. Qualified candidate must be well organized, detail oriented, and able to multi task; be resourceful, resilient, self-motivated, and energetic; and be committed to quality. ServSafe certification is a must. These positions require frequent standing for prolonged periods of time-up to 4 hours; ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs; and to frequently bend and twist from the waist. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This position requires a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and candidate must successfully meet the requirements of Hampshire College’s driver credentialing policy.
This 10-month, 37.50 hour/week benefited position has an employment cycle of August 1 through May 31. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program.
