Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for communications coordinator in the student life division.

The communications coordinator is responsible for optimizing the Hampshire student experience, developing a more informed student community, and increasing student's sense of belonging to Hampshire by creating effective communications and community-building strategies using a variety of appropriate communications channels. In collaboration with the communications office, the coordinator will develop an authentic and compelling brand of the First-Year Experience (FYE).  They will serve the student affairs division as a whole, with particular focus on the first-year student experience. The communications coordinator will understand students' aspirations and concerns through personal interviews and survey data; create effective communications strategies, plans, messaging, and deliverables that address the full life cycle of student's Hampshire experience; provide expertise and support to student affairs colleagues and collaborate with key offices and communications colleagues across campus.

This is a grant-funded position with continuation pending future funding.

A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of job-related experience is required. Successful candidate must be a creative, resourceful, flexible team player with a commitment to understanding student aspirations, concerns, and communications needs. Qualifications include superb writing, editing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent strategy, planning, and project management skills; and ability to set, manage, and meet deadlines. The communications coordinator must have expertise and facility with publishing platforms including social media, web, mobile, and traditional print. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This full time, benefited position holds a grade 6 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package.
