Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an accounts receivable assistant.

The accounts receivable (AR) assistant will assist the bursar in the billing, collection and maintenance process of student accounts receivables in accordance with College policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:  communication with students and parents regarding payment arrangements and negotiations; resolve student account issues and concerns; maintain current knowledge of FERPA laws; prepare cash deposits (including wires/ACH)/CGLP; process loan imports; prepare refund check requests; and place, remove, monitor, and follow-up on SA PERC holds. The AR assistant will post all charges, credits, and adjustments from constituents; process status report adjustments; oversee MSN/ICADS/TGI billing; act as computer loan administrator; monitor NG's/liaison for commencement; and assist with new student orientation programs. This position is responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable assistant’s manual.

An associate degree with a minimum of two years experience preferably in receivables and collections is required.  Successful candidate must be proficient with computer software programs, including Excel, Word and E-mail; experience with Colleague is ideal. Previous billing and accounting experience is preferred.  A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
