The Hampshire College Campus Store is accepting applications for a temporary retail assistant.

The retail assistant is responsible for operating point-of-sale system using appropriate cash-handling procedures. Additional duties include but are not limited to restocking and straightening merchandise, running reports and cleaning the store in preparation for the next day, receiving orders and ensuring proper pricing of items for sales floor, preparing invoices, and maintaining a high-level of customer service. The retail assistant will be tasked with processing online orders, preparing items for shipment, and delivering to the campus post office.

A high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year of job-related experience is required; two years of job-related experience is preferred. Qualified candidate should have strong retail and customer service experience, preferably in an academic setting; proficient data entry skills, solid organizational, time management and problem-solving skills; and excellent communication skills. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
