Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History

Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History, beginning July 1, 2014.

We seek an art historian who is a global comparativist of early modern art, broadly trained, and able to address cultural interactions between the Americas/Asia/Europe/the Middle East, and/or Africa. We seek someone who is capable of working across regions, specializing in any kind of visual culture, content, or medium from the Middle Ages to the 19^th century.  Concentration can be based in one geographic region and/or chronological period, but successful candidates will work in the exchange of different cultures and the entanglements across continents. Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
