Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History, beginning July 1, 2014.

We seek an art historian who is a global comparativist of early modern art, broadly trained, and able to address cultural interactions between the Americas/Asia/Europe/the Middle East, and/or Africa. We seek someone who is capable of working across regions, specializing in any kind of visual culture, content, or medium from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.  Concentration can be based in one geographic region and/or chronological period, but successful candidates will work in the exchange of different cultures and the entanglements across continents. Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
