Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an Executive Assistant to provide high level support to the Dean in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies.

The Executive Assistant to the Dean in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies (HACU) is responsible for overseeing the complex operations of the school and providing counsel and support for approximately 60 regular, visiting and adjunct faculty. Additional responsibilities include serving as senior advisor on all aspects of HACU management and taking an active role in implementing decisions made with or by the dean; advising and consulting with the dean in planning, budget, and policy development; and overseeing HACU operations budget and all HACU academic programming budgets. The executive assistant provides support by preparing and briefing the dean for meetings, setting agendas, and arranging and managing the dean's schedule.  The executive assistant will represent the dean at department and College-wide meetings when necessary. This position holds supervisory responsibilities.

A bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of three years job-related experience. Qualified candidates must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Must be computer proficient. Previous budget and project management experience is essential. The successful candidate must be flexible, have excellent problem-solving skills, be adept at managing crises, and be able to exercise a high-level of sensitivity, independent judgment, confidentiality, and decision-making.  The executive assistant must be able to interact professionally with diverse constituencies in a positive, collaborative manner.  Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
