Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for the position of assistant professor of Asian religions, beginning July 1, 2015.

We seek candidates with a specialization in one or more of the major religious traditions of East or South Asia qualified to teach introductory and upper-level classes in Asian religions and in world religions more generally. We are especially interested in candidates with a broad training in the history of religions and some expertise in one or more of the following areas: religion and literature, religion and philosophy, or religion and the arts. The successful applicant will be expected to teach two courses per semester and supervise independent work. Special consideration will be given to candidates with scholarly promise and demonstrated strengths in undergraduate teaching and advising. Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
