Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a one-year admissions counselor to represent the College through various recruitment and outreach activities.

Working with an exceptional admissions staff, this position will recruit and market the College’s interdisciplinary inquiry-based curriculum to diverse audiences.  The successful candidate will manage a recruitment territory that will matriculate exceptional Hampshire students as well as build and sustain genuine, professional consultative relationships with prospective students. This is a one-year position through June 30, 2016.

Our ideal candidate is an energetic and articulate team player who will passionately convey the distinctive qualities and benefits of a Hampshire education. Bachelor’s degree is required; previous experience working in an educational institution and/or admissions desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and strong critical reading skills are essential. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and possess a valid driver’s license. Occasional evening and weekend work is required. Two months of travel in the fall and one month in the spring is typically expected.
