Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a stewardship assistant to support the leadership giving team in the Office of College Advancement. This position is a specially funded four year position.

The stewardship assistant provides administrative support to the assistant director of stewardship and donor relations by providing a full range of project assistance to maintain a college-wide donor relations program, thereby strengthening philanthropic support of the institution. This position will support the fundraising efforts of the Advancement Office by maintaining various stewardship components for leadership giving, the Hampshire Fund, and planned giving. Primary duties and responsibilities include responding to inquiries; composing and proofreading correspondence; data entry; preparing expense reports; and maintaining and updating fund and designated space documentation.  Additional duties include assisting in the preparation, data collection, and distribution of donor communications and mailings, the coordination and execution of donor recognition events, and serve as the primary liaison with student recipients of financial aid who are participants in the Hampshire Fund Scholars program and matched to endowed scholarships.

An associate’s degree with thee years of job related experience is required. Candidates must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office applications and data entry; have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and possess an attention to detail. Ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, an ability to be pro-active, and experience in managing sensitive correspondence. The stewardship assistant must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This position requires a valid driver’s license and must successfully complete the Hampshire College Defensive Driving Training Course. The stewardship assistant must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

This is a 12-month, 35 hour- per-week benefited position and requires occasional evenings and weekends.  The position will end December, 2019.
