Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a project coordinator for the Ethics and Common Good Project. This position is a specially funded four year position.

The project coordinator develops and organizes programs to further the mission of the Ethics and Common Good Project (ECG) as well as provides administrative support to the program director and all programs and initiatives of the office. The project coordinator conducts programming and administrative tasks under the direction of the program director and the Steering Committee. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, 1) coordinating programming including “common good” internships for students, faculty grants, mutually supportive partnerships with organizations, and Common Good speaker series and symposia; 2) organizing communication and outreach efforts including promotion and informational materials, on-line communication (website and social media), and communication with constituents on and off campus; 3) maintain accurate administrative and financial systems.     

A bachelor’s degree with three years of job related experience is required. Qualified candidate will have experience working at the intersection of academia and community-led movements in program coordination and implementation. Excellent communication skills; writing, training, facilitation, and/or public speaking experience is a plus. The project coordinator must be able to handle high volumes of work and multiple projects running concurrently; excellent at problem solving; work independently and as part of a team; and relay information and respond to correspondence in a timely manner. Candidate will have advanced word processing and data entry skills using Microsoft programs (especially Word and Excel) and Google documents; experience and comfort using spreadsheets and databases; experience and comfort using social media to organize and engage project participants; and the ability to assess and implement new software.  Familiarity with project management software, online calendaring, and design software such as InDesign a plus. Must be comfortable seeking out, assessing and implementing new technologies. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
