Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an assistant to support the leadership giving team in the Office of College Advancement.

The leadership giving assistant provides a full range of administrative support, travel coordination, and project assistance to two associate directors of development for leadership giving (also known as Leadership Giving Officers or LGOs), each of whom travels extensively. Responsibilities include ensuring LGOs are well prepared for travel including booking travel and preparing detailed itineraries, conducting research and preparing briefing packets on the prospects to be visited by the LGOs; managing special projects as requested by LGOs to promote donor engagement, stewardship, and solicitation efforts, including background research for proposals; and composing emails and donor correspondence ensuring all communications are well edited, thoroughly prepared, timely, and distributed appropriately. Responsibilities also include a significant amount of filing, data entry and record keeping, ensuring the timely maintenance and entry of computer logs of thousands of LGO calls, emails, visits, event records and other forms of donor engagement. The leadership giving assistant may also supervise student workers assigned to the Leadership Giving team.

An associate’s degree with two years of job related experience is required. Candidates must be computer proficient with extensive Microsoft Office experience and possess excellent written and verbal skills with an attention to detail. Ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, be proactive in making recommendations to streamline work and offer helpful ideas and feedback, have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks on an ongoing basis, and be able to handle multiple tasks smoothly and competently within tight time deadlines. The assistant  must be able to learn, master, and keep abreast of College-wide automated scheduling systems as they are adopted and/or upgraded. Travel planning experience preferred. The leadership giving assistant must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
