Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a Community Partnerships for Social Change (CPSC) and Community Engagement (CE) program coordinator to join the team of the CPSC program and the Community Engagement and Collaborative Learning (CECL) Network.

The program coordinator will work with the assistant dean of community engagement/CPSC director and its assistant director in meeting the aims of the Community Partnerships for Social Change (CPSC) program as well as executing specific program design and implementation for all-campus community engagement (CE) work. The primary responsibilities include developing specific community partnerships and core programs, mentoring student leaders, advising students on CE opportunities and academic integration, and overseeing program promotion and outreach for CEL-1. The program coordinator will also be responsible for developing and advising of students to complete the CEL-1 requirement and executing administrative responsibilities for CPSC and cross-campus CE work such as website, server organization, database, social media, and budget.

                                                                                                                                                                                                A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required preferably in a field related to community engagement, community organizing or higher education administration. In addition, three years of relevant experience is required, preferably in a higher education, liberal arts setting or related non-profit organization. Qualified candidates must be technologically proficient; have an understanding of website and database management;  possess strong written and oral communication skills; have budget management skills; be able to effectively multi task and prioritize competing demands; must be very flexible and be able to respond quickly to changing circumstances; and have an exceptional level of initiative. The successful candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the Hampshire academic structure and curriculum; knowledge of community engaged learning and social justice principles;  program management and advising & mentoring skills; facilitation and training experience; and familiarity with and participation in professional organizations such as National Campus Compact in order to be current on best practices and programs in the field. The program coordinator  should be outgoing, proactive, organized and creative with strong program management, advising and leadership skills. Must be able to effectively work with students from a variety of cultural, ethnic, educational and economic backgrounds and be able to foster good working relationships with college personnel, local partner institutions, national organizations, alumni and parents. Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This position requires a valid driver’s license and must successfully meet the requirements of the Hampshire College driver credentialing policy. Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
