Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an administrative and communications coordinator to join the team in the Career Options Resource Center.

The administrative and communications coordinator provides administrative, communications, and programmatic support to the activities and initiatives of the Career Options Resource Center (CORC). This position will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of CORC’s many-faceted outreach strategies, such as a biweekly newsletter and social media; collaborating to expand the Center’s use of technology, including  our student and employer database and web pages; and co-managing a diverse group of 4-6 student workers. The coordinator will work with students and other constituents representing a range of cultures, ethnicities, and identities; and will respond to in-person, phone, and email inquiries from students, alumni, employers, and other college personnel, making appropriate referrals as needed. In addition, the coordinator will administer all levels of office support, including but not limited to accurate budget tracking and reconciliation, purchasing, scheduling, coordinating logistics for events, synchronizing cyclical functions of the Center, and data collection.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience are required. Successful candidate will be exceptionally organized and detail oriented; have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; be able to multi-task, problem solve, and handle a varied and large work load. Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets for budgeting purposes; experience working with technology, including databases, social networking, desktop publishing, and websites; and ability to create concise, visually appealing content that will speak to different audiences are a must. Successful candidate must be able to contribute to an environment that is welcoming and supportive of people from all identities and backgrounds; be a quick learner; possess a high level of initiative and resourcefulness; and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous supervisory experience is required. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
