Hampshire College is accepting applications for a conference and student programs casual for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy (CLPP) Program, a national project that equips and inspires new generations of leaders through campus-based education, real-world advocacy practice, and the skills to build a stronger, more diverse movement for reproductive freedom and social change.

Working with the CLPP director and conference program coordinator, the conference and student programs casual will create a conference vision statement and lead staff in discussion of priorities for the 2017 conference; incorporate evaluations and feedback from 2016; lead review of 2017 conference proposals; orient new student group coordinators to CLPP; and review student group coordinator (SGC) work plans and collaborate with SGCs to determine priorities/goals for the fall for outreach, programming, etc. The program casual will mentor SGCs to lead meetings and programming for fall semester; plan 3-4 events to take place in the fall; work with the communications and development associate to create and distribute event calendar; and, with the program coordinator, manage logistics, publicity, speaker needs, media, etc. for each event.

Bachelor’s degree is required.  Qualified candidate should have strong organizational skills; solid skills in spreadsheet/data management; ability to organize and synthesize large amounts of information; previous program management experience; and demonstrated ability to manage a large project with many moving pieces. Candidate should have a strong understanding of reproductive and social justice, and familiarity with CLPP partner organizations and current issues in reproductive justice. The program casual must have experience working with young people and/or college students, as well as ability to manage teams of people. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential. This position requires occasional evenings and weekends.
