The knowledge commons coordinator will further support the recruitment of student peer mentors who will be mentored by the alumni fellows, and in turn provide mentoring to peer students,  and empowering students to both help develop and take full advantage of the consolidated resources in the Knowledge Commons. A key responsibility will be planning and running a summer institute for recruited student workers to gain both content knowledge and mentoring and leadership skills.

In addition, the knowledge commons coordinator will identify areas for policy development, document processes and ensure strong communication among Commons partners, throughout library and information technology staff. The coordinator will direct and guide collaboration and communication, contribute to the Knowledge Commons’ responsive presence on Hampshire’s campus, and lead the marketing and outreach to make Knowledge Commons resources visible, both virtually and physically. The knowledge commons coordinator will also lead web design to reflect the Commons services available through the Library.

Advanced degree or equivalent, with a minimum of three years of job-related experience is required. The successful candidate will have experience in implementing and assessing high impact educational practices and twenty first century learning; experience providing academic support in an undergraduate educational setting; and involvement in mentoring programs. An ability to set goals and realize progress as a process, as well as effectively deal with change and shifting priorities is a must. The coordinator should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; a highly collaborative working style; strong initiative and follow-through; strong computing skills; and marketing experience in a variety of media and platforms. The knowledge commons coordinator will have the ability to visualize the bigger picture as well as maintain operational excellence. Applicants should be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This full time, benefited position will end three years from start date. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program. Please submit your cover letter, resume and names/phone numbers of three professional references via our website at https://jobs.hampshire.edu/
