Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a benefits and wellness coordinator to join our human resources team.

The benefits and wellness coordinator is responsible for the ongoing administration of the College’s benefit programs, including health and welfare, life, disability, worker’s compensation, FMLA/Leave administration, and retirement plans. Specific duties include coordinating premium payments, contractual compliance, open enrollment, benefits communication, recordkeeping, and eligibility determinations.  In addition, the coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and promoting fitness and wellness programs for College employees. The coordinator will also serve on the College’s Benefits Advisory Committee (BAC) and the Retirement Plan Oversight Committee (RPOC). This position will be responsible for organizing events such as new employee orientation, annual benefits fair, anniversary recognition program, and the Carol and Blair Brown employee recognition awards -- all which require extensive communication with employees. 

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years job-related experience is required. The successful candidate should be computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based software as well as have excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess strong customer service and organizational skills, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must. The benefits and wellness coordinator must remain up-to-date on and carry out duties in a manner consistent with federal, state and local laws and regulations concerning retirement and benefits administration, and have knowledge of employee benefits administration such as HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, 403B, AD&D, Long-Term Disability, and ACA. Qualified candidates must have project management skills in order to track daily tasks and ensure deadlines are met or completed ahead of commitments; have an attention to details; and be able to educate employees on health and welfare benefits. The coordinator will be expected to work professionally in a team-oriented environment and have a commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds.

This 35-hour per week, benefited position holds a grade 6 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program.
