Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a program coordinator for the office of multicultural & international student services.

The program coordinator oversees the daily operations for the office of multicultural & international student services (MISS) while providing administrative support to the director and all programs of the office. Activities include, but are not limited to, 1) providing confident and knowledgeable information to students, faculty and staff regarding multicultural and international student services programs and services; 2) maintaining accurate financial systems and processes including bookkeeping and purchasing goods and services for office programming; 3) developing marketing materials for programs and implementing outreach efforts that include maintaining web and social media presence; 4) working closely with the director and student employees, supporting them in all stages of their event planning process, space logistics, budgeting, policy compliance, advertising and use of college resources; and 5) providing administrative support to the director by coordinating meetings and scheduling student appointments. The program coordinator provides administrative support for the assistant director through data entry for international student academic advising reporting to the Student Exchange Visa Information System (SEVIS).

Bachelor’s degree with one-year of job-related experience is required. Advanced training and/or experience in a field related to diversity education, international education or higher education administration is highly desirable. Successful candidate must have strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and coordinate multiple program efforts; be highly organized and have acute attention to detail; ability to maintain and implement administrative systems effectively; and strong problem solving skills to be able to make appropriate decisions in a timely manner.  This position requires solid level of technology skills that include advanced word processing and data entry (Word and Excel), database and website management, and desktop publishing. Candidate must be familiar with diverse social media platforms,  have experience with developing promotion and outreach materials, and be able to articulate and communicate clearly, confidently and knowledgeably, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of constituents including students, staff, faculty and visitors. The program coordinator must be able to work independently, be very flexible, and able to respond quickly to changing circumstances and multiple priorities. This position requires a high tolerance for ambiguity and an exceptional level of initiative. Experience with program coordination and administrative systems and tasks including budget, accounting and database management is crucial. The program coordinator  must be welcoming and able to develop a positive, supportive working relationship with students, staff and faculty. Previous experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, specifically people of color and international populations is essential. This position requires occasional evenings and weekends.

The employment cycle for this full time, 11-month, benefited position is July 1st through May 31st and holds a grade 3 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package.
