Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for a special projects assistant. This is a one-year, grant funded position with continuation pending future funding.

Reporting to the executive assistant to the President, the special projects assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Office of the President.  Responsibilities include managing logistics for the College’s ten year New England Association for Schools and Colleges (NEASC)  reaccreditation, supporting the work of the Presidential Search process and other presidential committees, coordinating events and catering, providing budget support, and advancing other projects as needed.  The assistant will work closely with the President's office staff, the senior team, academic deans, and the NEASC visiting team, and is in regular contact with staff across campus to ensure optimal communication, coordination, and collaboration. 

A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience providing high-level administrative support are required; experience in an academic or similar office setting is preferred. Qualified candidates must possess a high level of computer expertise (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based software); strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities, complex schedules and workflow. Experience coordinating and implementing details of a higher education reaccreditation site visit is preferred. The special projects assistant must have a professional demeanor and impeccable capacity for discretion and maintaining confidentiality. Candidates must be supportive of the mission and pedagogy of Hampshire College, enjoy working collaboratively with others to achieve the College's priorities, and have a commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds. This position requires a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license with successful completion of the College’s driver credentialing process, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

This one-year, 35-hour per week, benefited position holds a grade 2 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program.
