Bakery and Catering Assistant Casual

Hampshire College is accepting applications for a bakery and catering assistant to join the team in our Prescott Bakery.

The bakery and catering assistant will be responsible for the preparation of foods for Hampstore and Kern Kafe such as sandwiches, salads, and frozen meals. The assistant will help with daily operations at the Prescott Tavern Bakery which include cleaning, sanitization, organizing, and receipt of goods.

A high school diploma or equivalent with two years of job related experience is required. Qualified candidate must have skills in safe food handling and food preparation; be able to  multitask with time management; and have ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions. The assistant must have knowledge in the use of common kitchen equipment, basic knife skills, maintaining a clean and organized work space, familiarity with basic baking terms and practices, as well as ability to lift up to 50lbs. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
