Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an office and program assistant to provide direct daily office-wide administrative and program support to the office of human resources.
Responsibilities will include assisting the HR director in daily administrative tasks and projects; supporting and providing back-up for the HR coordinator and the benefits and wellness coordinator; and assisting and/or coordinating in the planning and executing of HR sponsored events and trainings, including wellness activities, supervisor training and new employee orientation. The HR office and program assistant will serve as the office receptionist, greet visitors and answer main HR phone number and email inquiries.
An associate’s degree with a minimum of one year job-related experience is required. Ideal candidate should be computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based software, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess exceptional customer service and organizational skills, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must. The assistant must be skilled in project and time management in order to complete project plans and deadlines ahead of commitments. Successful candidate must be able to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team; be attentive to detail with ability to manage multiple and changing priorities; be flexible; maintain confidentiality; and be able to interact professionally with diverse constituencies and variety of personalities professionally. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
This 35-hour per week benefited position holds a grade 4 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits program.
