Seasonal Staff

The Facilities & Grounds Department at Hampshire College is currently accepting applications for temporary, seasonal staff.  The schedule for these positions is Monday thru Friday 6:00 A.M. to 3 P.M. with a pay rate of $12.00/hr. Duties will include but are not limited to removing trash, moving furniture, turning over student rooms for the new year, cleaning of academic building, event set up, repairing screens, repairing shades, lawn trimming and other duties as assigned.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic is a must. Work is both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to unpleasant elements and a harsh environment such as wind, sunlight, rain, dust, fumes, smoke, noise, chemicals, etc. These positions require significant physical activity and candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Applicants should be able to read, write, understand, and give written and verbal instruction in English. Some positions require a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and must successfully meet the requirements of Hampshire College Driver Credentialing policy. A commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
