Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking an operations coordinator for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program (CLPP). CLPP is a national program that inspires, educates and supports new activists and leaders to build a stronger and more diverse movement for reproductive justice and social change.

The operations coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program and manages its administrative activities to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.  Responsibilities include accounting and budget management, office administration and operations, overseeing internal communications and technology, and conference registration, sponsorship, and exhibitor support.

This is a grant-funded position with continuation pending future funding.

An associate’s degree with a minimum of two years job-related experience is required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Successful candidate must have advanced word processing and data entry skills using Microsoft programs and Google documents; experience and comfort using spreadsheets and databases; ability to assess and implement new software; possess accounting and bookkeeping skills and familiarity with related software;  capacity to build a good working relationship with College administrative staff;  and relay information, messages and correspondence in timely and organized manner. Candidate must be detail-oriented; able to handle high volumes of work; effectively prioritize, multi-task and problem solve; pay attention to deadlines and details; have good organizational skills; and able to communicate clearly and confidently. The operations coordinator must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, faculty, speakers, alums, and vendors, as well as work independently to forward CLPP’s mission and goals. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds, including racial and ethnic, socio-economic, international, LGBQ and trans* identities is essential.

This 12-month, 35-hour per week benefited position requires occasional evenings and weekends, and holds a grade 3 in the Hampshire College staff salary grading schedule.
