Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution and member of the Five College consortium, is accepting applications for an executive assistant to the president.

The executive assistant to the president provides executive-level support to the office of the president. Their duties include managing all aspects of the schedule for the President and the Board of Trustees, making travel arrangements, coordinating logistics for meetings, and drafting correspondence for the President's signature. The executive assistant be will responsible for managing office communications, recording meeting minutes and tracking action steps, maintaining websites for the office of the president and the Board of Trustees, managing events, and overseeing the various accounts under the president's office budget. The executive assistant to the president works closely with the President, senior administrators, academic deans, students, parents, donors, and VIPs, and is in regular contact with offices across campus to ensure optimal communication, coordination, and collaboration. The position of executive assistant to the president carries a high level of accountability, confidentiality, and impact.

A bachelor’s degree and five years’ of administrative experience is required; a combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered. Experience with an emphasis on involvement with senior management, ideally in a non-profit and/or educational setting, is highly desired as is an appreciation for the value of the educational environment. Qualified candidates must have computer expertise within a professional environment, including a high level of skill with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic calendaring systems; strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills; and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex tasks and responsibilities. This position requires a professional demeanor and impeccable capacity for discretion and maintaining confidentiality. The executive assistant must be be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment; be adaptable and flexible while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor; and act both independently and collaboratively, using sound judgment, sensitivity, and discretion, while requiring minimal supervision and producing exceptional results. The executive assistant to the president must be highly resourceful and emotionally mature with a proven ability to maintain the highest level of service and responsiveness under all circumstances. A commitment to and proven success working collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives is essential.
