Hampshire College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution, is seeking an operations specialist for the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program (CLPP). CLPP is a national program that inspires, educates and supports new activists and leaders to build a stronger and more diverse movement for reproductive justice and social change.

The operations specialist (OS) runs the daily operations of the Civil Liberties and Public Policy program under the direction of the deputy director of systems and sustainability.  Duties include managing administrative activities for the program to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency, and providing event support. 

This is a grant-funded position with continuation pending future funding.

A high school diploma with two years job related experience is required. Successful candidate must have advanced word processing and data entry skills using Microsoft programs (especially Word and Excel) and Google documents; ability to assess and implement new software; good working relationship with college administrative staff; ability to relay information, messages and correspondence in timely and organized manner; experience and comfort using spreadsheets and databases; ability to assess and implement new software; ability to relay information, messages, and correspondence in timely and organized manner. Candidate must be detail-oriented; able to handle high volumes of work; effectively prioritize, multi-task and problem solve; pay attention to deadlines and details; have good organizational skills; communicate clearly and confidently. This position requires someone who can work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, faculty, speakers, alums, and vendors; be able to also work independently to advance CLPP’s mission and goals; and have a commitment to program mission. A demonstrated ability to interact effectively and work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds, including people with different racial, ethnic and class backgrounds, people of different genders, and people with disabilities is essential.
